/* \mainpage qmail-ldapam ============ For a long time, André Oppermann's qmail-ldap (https://www.nrg4u.com/) was the only way to join Qmail with (Open)LDAP. Several PERL modules though were available, some created or modified by the author. Use of the LDAP DIT information for email validation or user authentication based on the idea of D.J. Bernstein's 'checkpassword' API, was on my list over more than a decade: - qmail-ldapam WHAT IT IS: ---------- The qmail-ldapam has be raised to feed this demand: - Email address validation together with the RECIPIENT interface for qmail-smtpd. - User authorization for SMTP Submission for qmail-smtpd based on my SMTP Authentication mechanism (others with the same interface would do as well). - User authorization for POP3 and/or IMAP4 services as given by the checkpassword specification. - Support for Virtual Mail Managers using LDAP's UserPrincipalName (UPN) capability. - Simple + StartTLS together with Strong bind to the LDAP server. - Schema free lookup with customizations read from the file $QMAILPATH/control/ldapbind supporting different (domain specific) LDAP servers. REQUIRMENTS ----------- qmail-ldapam uses two libaries: - The fehQlibs typically installed at /usr/local/qlibs available from: https://fehcom.de/ipnet/qlibs.html - The OpenLDAP library (libldap) together with the header files. Co-dependence is a working TLS environment. INSTALLATION: ------------ Read the INSTALL document See doc/CHANGELOG for version information. Date: October, 1st 2026 (feh)
